Dates With Mascarpone wrapped in Prosciutto

Makes 24 hors d’oeuvres

Ingredients

• ½ cup mascarpone cheese
• 12 dates, cut in half (I use honey dates)
• 6 wide, thin slices prosciutto di Parma, each cut into 4 long strips
• 24 toothpicks, soaked in water 10 minutes

Method

Heat broiler to low. Spoon 1 teaspoon mascarpone into each date; then a prosciutto strip. Secure with a toothpick. Broil until cheese bubbles, about 3 minutes. Serve warm. These treats can also be served as is or at room temperature!
